OUR CORE PHILOSOPHY
Zen Theosophy sets out to enable investigation into the nature of our mind, the fundamental course of our societies, and our place in the universe. We call this the Work.
In our view, a Theosophist is someone interested in the development of their consciousness and of their conscience. They develop compassion in themselves and express it through their work in the world. They analyze themselves and their psyche in an effort to better understand who they are and how they relate to others.
We hold that any idea, so long as it is founded on the principle of benefit to humankind and its fellow creatures, may be of use to our development. Whether it’s the philosophy of Buddha Gautama in 500 BCE, the early 20th century work of Carl Jung, or the political thought of Slavoj Žižek, all such ideas contribute to the Work of the Theosophist.
Zen Theosophy is focused on the practical execution of such self-developmental Work, and to that end we invite others to join us and lend their thoughts to ours.
